Bereavement

“Grief never ends…But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith…It is the price of love.”

One-on-one Support

One-on-one grief support is available through Hospice of Homer. Please contact our office (235-6899) or stop by to speak with someone. Our volunteers speak from the heart and from their own experience, but more importantly they listen. It’s possible to connect via phone call or in person depending on individual preference.

Bereavement Correspondence

This program provides support in the form of twelve monthly letters catered to your loss. Though sometimes tear-inducing, these letters also provide hope and something to look forward to during the difficult months after a loss. Please contact us if you have questions or to enroll in the program. 235-6899 or Director@HospiceOfHomer.org

Conversations on Loss

This peer support group is a mutual assistance self-help group offering friendship, understanding, hope, encouragement, and healing to all individuals coping with grief. This group meets every Thursday afternoon from 3-4 PM. For more information, please contact our office at 235-6899.

Widow/Widowers Group

This facilitated group helps those who’ve lost a partner to share and heal in a supportive setting. We offer meetings every Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 PM. You can call our office to confirm the schedule at 235-6899.

Grieving Your Pet

The Pet Grief Group is a safe, non-judgemental supportive space for those who have experienced the loss of a pet. This group meets via zoom the first Tuesday of each month from 4:00-5:00 PM to share stories and our feelings of loss. If you would like, you are welcome to share a picture of your pet.
